Our Back Roads Automotive team is all about Family!  We know it’s busy in the summer and keeping the kids entertained is important.  Sometimes it’s the simple things like making crafts with our kids/grandkids that create awesome memories!  Here are some fun and easy car-themed crafts from our family to yours!

Kids love movies!  Create a car from a large box.  Cut a door into it.  You can wrap it in colorful wrapping paper, construction paper or markers/paint and crayons.  Use paper plates to create wheels on the side. Cut smaller circles for headlights and make a plate with their name or favorite designs.   Add a Steering wheel and a pull string at the front of the box so it can be easily moved. Then have them fill their car with blankets, favorite stuffed toys and have a “Drive In” movie.  Let them park near the TV and enjoy their snacks in their car!  Fun for all and easy clean up.  They can be used for movie nights going forward!

Paper Plate Cars are super easy and fun for the littles. Use the plate for the body.  Cut out wheels, windows and other details using the construction paper.  Add headlights, license plates, racing strips and more to make it colorful.

Toilet Paper Roll Race Cars!

Paint or color the empty toilet paper roll to resemble a car body.

Poke holes in the side for the axles and insert a straw or skewers.

Attach bottle caps to the ends for the tires. Decorate with flames, color and more!

Popsicle Stick Cars can be creative, and the older kids will love constructing them.

Glue popsicle sticks together to form a box.  Paint or color them.

Attach bottle caps to the sides for wheels.  You can add a cool pipe cleaner/chenille windshield, mirrors and more!

These crafts are simple, use common household materials, and can be a lot of fun for kids to create and play with!  Email us pics and we’ll post them!

Have a great summer with your family from all of us here at Back Roads Automotive!
